Is your student having difficulty putting words on paper? Does your student have a gazillion words, but struggles to organize them into coherent thoughts? Or maybe your student is a decent writer, but wishes to write with more creative, imaginative elements. Wherever your student is on the writing spectrum, this class is designed to help improve their competency, independence, and creativity.
Our hope is that they will come away from this class with an enjoyment for writing and confidence in their communication skills. We will use a variety of techniques including story maps and key word outlines to help students organize their thoughts, as well as utilizing the thesaurus, banned words list, dress-ups, mad-libs, and sentence openers. As time permits, along with storytelling, we will work on poems and essay writing. My goal for each student is to have fun while learning to enjoy writing.
